Ylang-ylang, the flower that warms
Most white flowers cool things down. Jasmine is luminous, lily of the valley is green, orange blossom is clear. Ylang-ylang does the opposite: it warms. There is something banana-like in it, something creamy, almost solar, that rises in temperature instead of lightening.
That is what makes it hard to dose. Too little and it disappears under the fruit. Too much and it becomes overwhelming. Well placed, it holds up a fruity accord that would otherwise evaporate within half an hour.
A white flower that warms instead of cooling. It is rare, and it is what makes the heat hold.
In SOMARI it plays exactly that part. Ripe mango opens dense and solar, ylang-ylang gives it floral warmth, musk and amber leave it on the skin. Two in the afternoon: the sun stops climbing, it weighs.

On warm skin it unfolds faster. This is the kind of composition to try in the afternoon, not in the morning.
